Alexander Daniel Welch

Alex passed away on April 8, 2010.  He was born in Littleton, Colorado on September 13, 1989.  He moved to Broomfield when he was five years of age and lived a life with family and the many friends he gained through school, and other activities.  Upon graduating from Broomfield High he enrolled at Metropolitan State College, where he was studying economics and Spanish.   His passion was helping others in need; this included recent travels to help others in New Orleans and in going to the Yucatan to establish a micro loan for a Mayan Village to market their honey crops.  His life revolved around his family and friends, travel, and faith.  His travels included many trips to Mexico and Canada, with his travel to Southern Europe being his favorite travel.  Alex was a tremendous friend to many, a caring, humble person and the best son and brother imaginable.  He is survived by his parents, Dan and Mari, and his sister Elise Welch, from whom he will be loved forever.

Memorial contributions can be made in Alexander's name to Healthy Learning Paths on our donation page or by calling 303.464.7191.  In the words of a family friend,  Jeanne Franklin, "Alex  was certainly a shining example of a healthy young man.  I can't think of a better role model for children to aspire to."
